Challenge & Context

🧩 The challenge was not only to support a polished direct-to-consumer shopping experience, but also to manage the operational complexity of a brand that sells across multiple channels and serves an international audience. Publicly, SERASAR supports multiple languages, ships across the EU and internationally, processes weekday orders within 24 hours, and maintains customer-service workflows around returns, tracking, and product support. 📦 In practice, that creates a harder systems problem: inventory must be tracked in a way that reflects real movement across products, packages, and channels, while fulfilment decisions need to stay efficient and scalable. The core need was to go beyond simple storefront inventory and implement a more intelligent operational model that could allocate items into boxes dynamically, surface meaningful statistics, and predict stock depletion before it became a business problem.

Approach & Architecture

🏗️ Our approach combined a customer-facing eCommerce platform with a deeper operations layer built around SP-API-driven synchronization and planning workflows. At the storefront level, the project needed to support a structured product catalog, multilingual customer journeys, and international order handling consistent with the live SERASAR experience. 🧠 On the backend side, the architecture centered on: - full SP-API integration - dynamic item / box allocation - inventory-aware statistics - run-out-of-stock forecasting - operational visibility for planning and replenishment Rather than treating stock as a passive number, the system was designed to turn inventory movement into actionable operational insight.

Implementation

💻 I led the development work across the project, delivering both the commerce-side functionality and the advanced integration logic behind it. The implementation included a full SP-API setup for marketplace-connected workflows, custom logic for dynamic box allocation, and internal reporting/statistics that helped identify when inventory would likely run out based on live business conditions. 📈 This gave the project real operational depth: instead of relying only on manual checks or flat stock values, the system could support better packaging decisions, clearer visibility into moving inventory, and more proactive replenishment planning. The end result was a stronger commerce platform for a brand that already operates at visible scale, with a public-facing experience backed by much smarter infrastructure. SERASAR’s live site signals that scale through its multilingual setup, large category structure, international shipping coverage, and 500,000+ customer claim.
